Color For A Cause

Like most 5K runs, this will start off a laid back fun run but unlike most 5K’s you will never forget what happens between the start and the finish of the race.

Five kilometers, Five Color Points to pass through where you will have color rained down on you, splash, squirted and bombarded with color from one zone to the other. You will laugh at others getting doused and laugh even harder when its your turn. Feel free to ask our color guys for more color too! They respond best to silly dances, taunting “dare you to get me” attitudes and simply “Color me Up dude” requests!

By the end of the race you will be covered from head to toe in bright colors, your white race shirt will bear the tale of your day and you still aren’t done having fun! Hang out in the Color Zone with good people, refreshments and great music. Listen for the siren and get colored all over again!

Bring your family, friends, kids, colleagues and neighbors – this is really some of the best fun you will have in Tyler all year!

Oh, and 100% of the proceeds go to a little girl battling leukemia in Tyler – does it get any better?

Eligibility: All Participants must be currently registered with USA Swimming or USMS to be eligible. Proof of Eligibility must be included with entry.

Entry procedure: All entries will be submitted using Hy-Tek Team Manager ONLY! Paper or FAX entries will NOT be accepted. This Race is limited to 400 Entrants on a first come first served basis. Each swimmer is limited to one event.

Entry Info: The entry deadline is April 30th, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. for USA Swimmers. The race entry fee is $35.00 per event and is due May 3rd, 2014. No refunds.
All teams with five or more swimmers must submit entries using Hy-Tek Team Manager or its equivalent to the Entries Chair. Email is the preferred method of delivery; if you need to submit entries in another format, please contact the Entries Chair to make other arrangements. Please rename the entry file to clearly identify the meet sanction number, your club code, and the file (example:
Attach a Meet Entry Report of your entries listing the Swimmer, USA Swimming ID, and entries by swimmer. Rename the Meet Entry Report using the meet sanction number, your club code, and the report name (such as: STA-14-15_GOLD_EntriesByAthlete.pdf).

Athletes included in improperly identified files or with inaccurate or missing USA Swimming IDs will not be entered into the Meet and any entry fees will not be refunded. Athletes will not be entered into Meet Manager if the Meet Entry Report is not received. Athletes will not be permitted to compete in the Meet until satisfactory fee payment arrangements have been made with the Meet Director or designee.

Teams will fewer than five swimmers may send an email to the Entries Chair with the team abbreviation, LSC, the Swimmer’s full name (as registered with USA Swimming), the Swimmer’s USA Swimming ID number, and the swimmer’s events by number, description, and entry time.

When submitting files to the Entries Chair, please include the name, email address, and phone number of the person submitting the entries. If you do not receive an email confirmation, your entries were not received.
ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A COMPLETED ASSUMPTION OF RISK FORM PRIOR TO SWIMMING. Athletes who have not submitted a completed form for this meet, or one prior, will not be permitted in the water. You may bring this form with you the day of the meet. Forms are included in the Meet invitation, and will be available at the Check-In Desk.

We will accept team entries in the order in which they are received, and refuse entries when we reach maximum capacity. It is highly recommended that you submit your entries early in order to ensure participation.

Registration is open for the 8th Annual Lockhart Kiwanis 5K Stampede, April 19, 2014. 1K fun run/walk beginning at 8:00 a.m. 5K run/walk will begin at 8:20 a.m.

Operation Float A Soldier (OFAS) 5K Fun Run

Operation Float A Soldier (OFAS) 5K Fun Run benefiting military members who have been wounded in action in conjunction with the 16th Annual Canyon Lake Area Chamber of Commerce BBQ Cook-off.

OFAS is a nonprofit 501c3, 100% volunteer based organization which began in the summer of 2005. The military members we serve have been injured serving our country. The entry fee for the 5K also gets you into the Canyon Lake Area Chamber of Commerce BBQ Cook-off. This annual BBQ is returning to Jacob’s Creek Park off of FM306 with over 20+ BBQ Teams. The proceeds from this event go to help fund the Canyon Lake Area Chamber of Commerce to help promote Canyon Lake, TX and Operation Float A Soldier. The Cook Teams will be competing for best brisket, chicken, ribs, unique pit, showmanship, and overall winner. CRHS Raider Color Run

The Cedar Ridge High School Raider Color Run is a 5K un-timed run with a couple of color zones and a color celebration at the end. All participants will start with their white Raider Color Run shirt and finish plastered in color. The run is more about having fun than running fast, so grab your friends and family and join in the fun. Stick around after the run for the Raiderfest with food, live bands, a car show, and bbq cook-off from 10am-4pm.

All proceeds from the Raider Color Run will benefit the Cedar Ridge High School Project Graduation and the graduating seniors. Project Graduation is an all-night lock-in party held the night of graduation, so seniors have a fun, safe, drug and alcohol free environment for the graduating senior’s last social event together as a class.

The un-timed course starts on the Cedar Ridge High School track and winds around the CRHS campus with two loops, passing through 2 color zones, and finishing in front of the school. This is not a race so go at your pace and enjoy the course.

Color Zones
Each color zone will have volunteers who will throw non-toxic colored powder that was made by the students at CRHS’s culinary kitchen. The volunteers will do their best to throw the powder at your torso, but wind and other factors can cause the powder to get on your face. Wearing goggles, sunglasses, and other eye wear have been worn at other runs that have flying colored powder. The color zones can be bypassed completely.

Color Celebration
At the end of the run each finisher will receive a bag of powder for the color celebration. The color celebration will occur every 10-15 minutes or as the crowd gets bigger. The announcer will help coordinate the celebration by counting down from 10 to 0.

There will be snacks, water, and Gatorade at the finish.

The Raider Color Run is just the beginning of the day. Bands will begin playing at 10am and continuing until 4pm. There will be a bbq cook-off and food will be available to buy starting at noon. The CRHS senior class is also holding a car show and a bake sale. Lots of family fun.

Student participants $15 online, includes a t-shirt and colored powder at the finish line for the color celebration. Entry fee increases to $20 on Apr 21st and $25 on race day.
