Wimberley in April…what a treat!
And now you have the chance to run and walk along some of the most scenic stretches of this hidden, Hill Country gem. If you’ve been to Wimberley you know its charm. If not, now you have a great, multi-purpose reason to visit!
Past Wimberley 4 events have been scored as “great events” by all in attendance. The 2014 version should be bigger and better! The W4 is one of those special events you return to year after year…a great event, great course, great music, great volunteers, great cause and great Texas Hill Country ambiance.
After the Wimberley 4, take a http://gardencare.uk.com stroll through the village shops on “the Square”, full of wonderful local art and special, one-of-a-kind gifts. This year the W4 will also be sharing the date with Wimberley Butterfly Days at the Emily Ann Theater, an annual event that attracts hundreds for this rite of spring. A visit to Blue Hole Regional Park for a cool dip into Cypress Creek is also a must-do for visitors.
Why not make a weekend of it and treat yourself to a Wimberley sunset from one of the many Bed & Breakfast Inns in the area?
Like most 5K runs, this will start off a laid back fun run but unlike most 5K’s http://bluewaterropes.com/generic/ you will never forget what happens between the start and the finish of the race.
Five kilometers, Five Color Points to pass through where you will have color rained down on you, splash, squirted and bombarded with color from one zone to the other. You will laugh at others getting doused and laugh even harder when its your turn. Feel free to ask our color guys for more color too! They respond best to silly dances, taunting “dare you to get me” attitudes and simply “Color me Up dude” requests!
By the end of the race you will be covered from head to toe in bright colors, your white race shirt will bear the tale of your day and you still aren’t done having fun! Hang out in the Color Zone with good people, refreshments and great music. Listen for the siren and get colored all over again!
Bring your family, friends, kids, colleagues and neighbors – this is really some of the best fun you will have in Tyler all year!
Oh, and 100% of the proceeds go to a little girl battling leukemia in Tyler – does it get any better?
