Register now for this weekend’s Shoes for Austin 5K!
The mission of SHOES FOR AUSTIN is to motivate children (K-12) to achieve physical fitness goals by providing them with the incentive of new, brand-name athletic shoes.
This year, SHOES FOR AUSTIN will serve 6,000 underserved children through its SHOES 4 KIDS incentive program.
Since its inception in 2000, SHOES FOR AUSTIN has partnered with over 90 local nonprofit agencies and provided over 65,000 pairs of new, brand-name athletic shoes to deserving children and youth.
The 10th annual SHOES 4 KIDS 5K will be held at Austin State School on Saturday, April 17th, 2010. The event will include a 5K walk and run, a kid’s 1K and activities for the whole family. The SHOES 4 KIDS 5K benefits Shoes for Austin, a homegrown nonprofit that aims to motivate children to achieve physical fitness goals by providing them with the incentive of new, brand name athletic shoes. All proceeds go directly to purchase new athletic shoes for children participating in the Shoes for Austin program.
Packet pick-up will be held Friday, April16th at RunTex Riverside (422 W Riverside Drive) from 10:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.
